Today was day one of the Ultimate Reset and let me start off by saying that it is definitely NOT a good idea to get only 4 1/2 five hours of sleep the night before you start a detox and cleanse. Bad, bad idea!! I had spent a lot of time over the weekend getting ready for this cleanse and realized pretty late on Sunday that I had not done some work that I needed to do for my business. So I did what had to be done and called it a night! What I’ve learned is that its a good idea to keep a To Do list even on the weekends!
The morning started off pretty early…5:15AM to be exact with some water and my supplements! The thing about this program is that its pretty regimented – meaning you have to drink water, take supplements and eat at certain intervals! Supplements have to be taken on an empty stomach, water has to be drank 5-10 minutes BEFORE your meal – not WITH your meal etc. Having done the program before, we knew what we were getting into…but its always a good idea to read through the nutrition guides and plug into a support group…thankfully there is a group of 4 of us from our team doing it together.
So now the quick recap! Here’s a look at Day 1 food! (I probably won’t be posting every single meal but I’m going to give you a good idea of whats included!
Generally speaking I felt pretty good in the morning. It wasn’t till around 10 AM that I started to feel a bit of a headache come on and then felt super tired at about 11 o’clock. I laid down for a nap and got about an hour sleep before lunchtime. My first time doing this program a few years ago I don’t recall getting such a bad headache on Day 1 but I know that its related to not starting my morning off with both my energize and morning coffee! Talk about caffeine withdrawal!! We both drank tons of water all morning to counteract the headache but by the time I had to pick up my youngest daughter I was feeling bad – like I never get headaches so for me it was awful! I really feel for people who suffer from intense headaches/migraines all the time. Mine were no where near what some people describe but there were points when I felt like I was going to be sick. When we got home after pick up, I laid down on the couch and finally decided that I would take just one Tylenol because after drinking nearly a gallon of water and resting…it was still pretty bad. After the tylenol I laid down til it was time to pick up daughter #2…only for about a half an hour. By the time I went to pick up daughter #2, I was feeling human again! When we got home I made myself this nutrient dense health shake for a snack! Dinner was one of our families favorite meals…Baked Salmon, potatoes and asparagus! (the pic wouldn’t upload correctly and I don’t have time tonight to figure it out! Day one food wise is one of my favorite days of the Reset!
Knowing that this is a program that’s pretty intense, I took some time this morning to think about things things that I’m grateful for! One thing that this program completely takes the guesswork out of is having to plan any meals! I mean, that is what a lot of my clients dread is the meal planning! Now yes you still have to prep them but at least you know what you’re making and you get a grocery list…
Because I’m fully committing to this process…today I did take before pictures and measurements and to my dismay I was not impressed. I feel like I’ve let myself go focusing on all things except my own results! Its time to start focusing on me again and I’ve got 20 more days to really ROCK it!
Hubby and I are committed to completing this program and setting our body back to alkaline state so that we can finish the year feeling and looking great from the inside out!!
